The Troupe
The circus is more than just the extravaganza of acrobats, clowns and the ringmaster. It’s the popcorn vendor, the stagehands; it’s putting up the tent and maintaining the generator. It’s not necessarily all fun and laughter. This is their job and it’s hard work, yet they make it look effortless, like it’s second nature.
Being backstage I was able to capture the working relationship of the troupe. They have a set routine, all working well together and contributing. Some of the troupe are third or fourth generation performers who have been part of the circus their entire life, more or less born into it.
